Galbatorix was the main antagonist in the "Inheritance Cycle" series, specifically in the "Eragon" book. Originally he was a dragon rider. After his dragon died & the elders refused to give him a new one, he stole an egg, raised the dragon to be evil then hunted down & killed all riders dragons who refused to ally themselves with him. He then declared himself king over Alagasea.
