Who was started the civil rights movement?
There were many civil rights movements and many civil rights leaders. Some could even argue that a civil rights movmenT so to speak, began with Jesus himself, as he brought good news to those less fortunate and performed miracles for those in need. If one is referencing the American Civil Rights movement, the earliest civil rights movement was started with the leader of the NAACP and with the landmark civil rights case of Plessy vs Ferguson. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was also one of the very first civil rights movement leaders in the United States, as was Rosa Parks.
