Zachary Taylor was the President of the United States at the start of 1850. He was replaced by Millard Fillmore on July 9.

Zachary Taylor (born November 24, 1784 in Barboursville, Virginia; died July 9, 1850 in Washington, DC) succeeded James K. Polk as the twelfth President of the United States, serving between March 4, 1849 and July 9, 1850.

Following Taylor's death, sixteen months into his Presidency, Millard Fillmore (born January 7, 1800 in Summerhill, New York; died March 8, 1874 in Buffalo, New York) became the thirteenth President of the United States, serving between July 9, 1850 and March 4, 1853.
Zachary Taylor was the President in 1850 until his death on July 9th. Following President Taylor's death, Millard Fillmore was sworn into office and served until 1853.
