Who was the actress in the 50's or early 60's who lost her leg in an accident?
The actress I believe you are speaking of is/was Jane Froman. She lost a leg in a world war II or shortly after freak airplane accident in the Pacific theatre. She was not popular in the period you mention, but a film was done on her ( of the problem-novel) type and had the misleading title (With a Song in My Heart). ( that could be anything, even Elvis). She actually died sometime in the eighties as I recall. having long been retired from any film work- handicap considered. there may be another one, but that is the only one I can think of- Jane Froman- not to be confused with Wyman.
Lola Albright Played 'Edie' According to "Biography," it was the actress Lola Albright who "enjoyed her greatest fame in the late-'50s and early-'60s television series Peter Gunn, playing Edie, the private detective's on-again, off-again love interest."
