Carlos Francis ran the fastest 40 yard dash of the 2004 National Football League Combine with a time of 4.33 seconds. Francis went to Texas Tech University and played for the Oakland Raiders until 2007 when he retired. Francis saw no action and started none of his games.

From 04-05, the fastest players in the league were considered to be either Dante Hall or Santana Moss.

This fastest player is NOT Darrell Green.. DG ran the 40 in 4.43 seconds. Bo Jackson has the fastest 40 time ever recorded at a 4.13, making him the fastest player ever in the NFL.

That's hard to say. In the 2006 Pro Bowl skills competition, the winner of "fastest man" was New York Jets cornerback Justin Miller. The fastest rookie in the 2007 season is Yamon Figurs, WR of the Baltimore Ravens, who ran a 4,30 time at the NFL Scouting Combine.

The fastest NFL football player, measured in terms of the fastest 40-yard dash time at the combine, is Chris Johnson. He was clocked with a forty time of 4.24 seconds. The second fastest time was set by Dri Archer at the 2014 combine with 4.26 seconds. As Johnson's career is winding down, it is likely that Archer is the fastest player in the NFL.
