Best Answer

About ten thousand years ago (late Pleistocene age and then Paleo-Indian age), there were native people, in some sources called Clovis or Llano people, who explored the region; there is evidence they were hunter-gatherers: at first, in the earliest stages, they seem to have hunted wooly mammals and other animals of that era, but later, in the Paleo-Indian age, they seem to have set up small colonies or tribal groups, and they added vegetation to their diet, in addition to hunting for animals.
