it is believed that the first woman to ever fly in an airplane was Therese Peltier. She flew as a passenger on a flight in France on July 8, 1906. She is also the first to actually pilot a plane in 1908.
In 1908 Madame Therese Peltier was the first woman to do a solo flight. Baroness Raymonde de Laroche was the first to obtain a license from Aero club of France, but Harriet Quimby in 1911 was the first American woman to get a license. She is also the first to fly at night. Since 1784 women have been involved in flight. The first to fly was in a hot air balloon.
It was in 1908 that Madame Therese Peltier became the first woman to fly an airplane solo.
The first American to fly an airplane was Blanche Scott and made her first flight in Fort Wayne, IN, in fall of 1910.
A Belgian woman named Helene Dutrieu learned to fly a Santos-Dumont Demoiselle in 1908 and may have gotten a head start on the Americans.

Therese Peltier was probably the first female passenger during a flight in July 8, 1906. In 1908 she became the first woman to fly and first to solo with several flights in a Voisin. Also in 1908 she was a passenger with her friend Delagrange for a duration record setting flight of 30 minutes.
1908 Delagrange offered a prize of 1000 francs to the first woman who could fly 1 kilometer. Peltier started training for it but Delagrange was killed in a plane crash and Peltier quit flying after that so never competed for it.
1908 Madame Therese Peltier was the first to fly a airplane solo. In 1910 Baroness Raymonde de Laroche was the first to have a license and in 1911 the first American woman was Harriet Quimby with a license. She is also the first to fly at night. Women in flight date back to 1784 with the first woman in a hot air balloon.
Amelia Earhart was the first women to fly a plane. She also flew across the Atlantic Ocean alone. While she was flying to fly all the way around the world, she disappeared over the Pacific Ocean. Airplane and all.
Amelia Earhart, I think.
