Answer In recent history, King George V, reigned 1910 to 1936, had a full beard and Moustache (that's the British spelling), as did his predecessor, King Edward VII, who reigned from 1901 to 1910. King Charles II, reigned 1649 to 1685, is portrayed clean shaven and with a moustache but no beard and his predecessor, Charles I, 1625 to 1649 had a beard and moustache. There is at least one portrait of Charles I's predecessor - James I - with a beard and moustache. He reigned from 1603 to 1625. His predeccessor was Queen Elizabeth I, who had neither moustache nor a beard!
