My Great Great Great Grandfather, who was a Confederate Solider from East Tennessee, died at age 95. He was the oldest man to serve in the Civil War.
Without a name for this 95 year old soldier, it is difficult to discuss and verify. It also depends on the precise question. The oldest person to actually SERVE in the Civil War is sometimes said to be Curtis King, who was 80 years old at the time he served in 37th Iowa Infantry. Other Civil War veterans lived to much older ages, but Curtis King was 80 years old while he was serving in the war.
Most websites say the youngest soldier was about 10 yrs old
John W. Packham was the youngest person to serve in the Civil War. He was only 13 when he started fighting.

His name was John Clem and he was only 12 years old!
