Andrew Jackson (March 15, 1767 - June 8, 1845) was the 7th President of the United States. He was married Rachel Donelson Robards Jackson (June 15, 1767 - December 22, 1828) from 1791-1794, which was considered invalid and from 1794-1828, her death. They never had any children together.

He did, however, act as adopted father or guardian to 11 children during his lifetime. They are as follows:

Andrew Jackson, Jr. (December 4, 1808 - April 17, 1865), nephew; son of Rachel Donelson's brother Severn (1763 or 1773 - 1818) - adopted

Theodore Jackson, a Native American child - adopted

Lyncoya Jackson (c. 1811 - 1828), a Creek Indian; he would die at the age of 17, in the same year of Rachel Donelson - adopted

John Samuel Donelson (? - 1817), nephew; son of Rachel Donelson's brother Samuel (1758 - 1804) - guardian

Andrew Jackson Donelson (August 25, 1799 - June 26, 1871), nephew; another son of Rachel Donelson's brother Samuel - guardian

Daniel Smith Donelson (June 23, 1801 - April 17, 1863), nephew; also son of Rachel Donelson's brother Samuel - guardian

Andrew Jackson Hutchings (1812 - 1841), grand nephew; orphaned grandson of Rachel's sister Catherine Donelson Hutchings (1752 - 1835) - guardian

Caroline, Eliza, Edward and Anthony Butler, orphaned children of Revolutionary War General Edward Butler who name Andrew Jackson as guardian; they often came to live at the Hermitage after their father's death.
