Hello to all who may read this. The first black Basketball player to sign an NBA contract was a man by the name of Harold " Wild Man" Hunter. He never got the opportunity to play on account of being cut from the team because of racial issues. The first black to actually play professional basketball was Bob " Robert Earl" Love.

∙ 14y agoSome of the black athletes from the 1920's were Leroy (Satchel) Paige, Josh Gibson and James (Cool Papa) Bell. All three players played in the Negro National League of Baseball.
William "Big" Bell and Earl "sheik" Delaney were both football players and Gorilla Jones was a prizefighter.
