Durinh WW1, the factories were short of workers as they had all gone to war. Women were then employed instead, often in munitions factories. Whenthe war finished, the men came home expecting everything to stay the same. It didn't! Many women had discovered that they were good at working and were unwilling to leave the workplace. This was a big step towards women equality rights.
