The battle was fought between Normandy and England. The Norman ruler who engaged in the battle was William the Conqueror and the English king was King Harold II. King Harold II was killed and England lost this battle and Normandy took over rule in 1066, England begrudgingly accepted William as their king.
the Normans won The Battle of Hastings in 1066.the leader who then became king was William duke of Normandy. (Robin Hood was in a later period.)
the side who should have won is the English side

Harold Godwinson and Harald Hardrada, fought in the Stamford bridge battle. Then Harold then had to walk all the way south of the country, until he got to the battle of hastings place. ( i don't no where it was fought, i think it was in hastings ) Harold had lost most of his well trained men and was really tired from walking all that way so he was tired for the battle of hastings. So supposedly, that's 2 of the reasons he lost.
