David was a shepherd of flocks. While protecting his flocks he killed a Lion and a Beer (See 1 Samuel 17 : 34 - 36). Being a warrior he also killed Goliath the Philistine who threatened the Israelites (See 1 Samuel 17 : 40 - 58). Apart from these, David killed many kings in war.
