∙ 14y agoBehavoral: Think back and make sure you have not fed ANY scraps or treats in this amount of time or some time before. If so, the dog may just play the waiting game with you and is protesting the dog food. If you give in by giving scraps/treats here and there, your dog will have you wrapped around his paw. You can try heating the food (or adding broth to dry food and heating) to get the molecules flowing through the air and into your dogs' nose. A dog that eats a lot of food daily and does not exercise may suddenly forfeit eating. Check for appropriate daily portion sizes if you haven't already. Has anything changed in the environment or the dogs' environment that would cause th dog stress?
Medical: Is your dog still active or grown more lethargic? Any unusual behaviors? Any missing toys, clothings, medication or any other articles in house missing? Any cleaning materials easy to access or antifreeze puddles outdoors? Still drinking water or becoming dehydrated? Any straining when attempting to eliminate? Be sure that your dog is not sick or did not ingest something that could be poisonous or could cause an internal blockage. You will know if your dog is secretly eating if s/he has eliminated. Contact your vet to rule out anything medical. It'll be worse to lose your dog due to a vet bill.

∙ 14y agoYour dog my have something wrong with it if it isn't eating. It could have cancer, it could have an infected tooth, or just have an upset stomach. i strongly suggest you visit a Vet soon if your dog is not eating.

∙ 11y agoAnimals are instinctual creatures. When they will not eat during their normal feeding schedule, for extended periods of time, then they are trying to tell you something. Monitor them closely and call the veterinarian for detailed information specific to your animals breed and size.

∙ 9y agoIf your dog is not eating a lot it may be due to it having bad appetite. The causes of it not eating a lot may be that it is ill, unfamiliar surrounding, it was recently vaccinated or there is some pickiness or behavior issues.
