Ranch Size:Big Ranches were created in part by European capitol who created them for prestige and for profit. Wyoming and Montana both suffered from a major winter cattle kill that bankrupted many. Size means control of markets and the economy and may and generally does create efficiency in management.

Montana cattle ranches are in a dry area and in order to have enough water for each animal, they must have a lot of area. This area is measured in acres.
