yes because the earth rotates on a tilt so that half of the year the southpole is closer to the sun and the other half the north pole is closer and cause the seaons to reverse depending on the hemisphere your in (this is why Australia is hot in December and cold in July) however areas between the tropics of cancer and Capricorn (the equator is directly between these two) are always tilted directly towards the sun and have very little seasonal climate change and are always warm.
