Physical size of a gamma particle is smaller than that of alpha and beta particle. Since the particle size is smaller, the chances for a gamma particle to collide or interact with other particles (protons, neutrons, and electrons) are much lower. Please do not forget that atom is made up of mostly space. And also, gamma particles are neutral. So they do not have the potential to interact with charged particles.
Because they have no mass (at rest state), little mass (at velocity), and no charge. As a result, their interaction with matter is minor, thus their deep penetrating ability.
Unfortunately, that means there are more possibilities for some interaction, and the problem is that gamma is energy. There are three possible interactions involving gamma; the photoelectric effect, compton scattering, and pair production. Unfortunately, each of these interactions can produce an electron and/or a positron, and that can ionize the matter that the gamma is penetrating, breaking covalent bonds and damaging chemical processes.
Because the gamma only gives up some of its energy to these interactions, it can go on to have more interactions, so a single gamma can create, ultimately, multiple ionizing events, making gamma, potentially, the most dangerous of all the radiation forms.
Note that I differentiate between radiation and radioactive material which causes radiation. In terms of radioactive material, the most dangerous is an alpha emitter. Ironically the least penetrating, but if ingested, an alpha emitter can do the most damage because it is the heaviest particle with the most charge
X-rays and gamma rays have higher frequencies and more energy than other electromagnetic waves
Because it has small size and it will not try to ionise the material
Each of its photons has higher energy than a microwave photon.
The energy carried by a "beam" of them depends on how many
photons there are in the beam.
They're not. They travel at exactly the same speed as plain old pokey radio and light,
but they have much higher frequencies.
They have the highest energy per photon, the highest frequency, and the shortest wavelength.
Because at their frequencies, each gamma ray photon has more energy
than a photon of any other form of electromagnetic radiation.
Because for electromagnetic radiation, energy is proportional to the waves frequency. Since x-rays and gamma rays have the highest frequency, they will therefore have the highest energy.
lol
i mean waves*
X-rays and Gamma rays are the two most penetrating rays in the electromagnetic spectrum.
Gamma rays are the most penetration rays because of its shortest wave length...
Gamma rays. They need layers of concrete and lead. They are also still not completely blocked.
Paul Villard discovered gamma rays in 1900, after recognising them as different to X-rays as they had a much greater penetrating power. Gamma rays were not thought of as part of the electromagnetic spectrum until 1914 when Rutherford showed that they were a form of light.
A gamma ray is a form of electromagnetic radiation that has a very short wavelength (and a very high frequency and a very high energy). Gamma rays are similar to visible light, radio waves, and all the other forms of electromagnetic radiation. We find gamma rays at the top or high end of the electromagnetic spectrum. It is probable that X-Rays, which are just below gamma rays in the spectrum, are most similar.

Because at their frequencies, each gamma ray photon has more energy than a photon of any other form of electromagnetic radiation.
Gamma rays have the shortest wavelength compared to most of other electromagnetic radiation. Gamma rays have high penetrating power and are high in frequency. Exposure to this type of radiation can cause many health complications.
Penetrating electromagnetic radiation of a kind arising from the radioactive decay of atomic nuclei.

No, gamma rays are not neutrons. They are electromagnetic rays or electromagnetic energy.
Because they have the shortest wavelengths
