We protect animals, trees, the environment, etc. We do this so often in fact, that by simply adding the word "natural" or "nature" to any retail product sales will grow by nearly 17%.

In reality, Natural Resources are a blight on the world and need to be disposed of and consumed to remove them the ground and sea, so that we can actually have a pristine earth. Need more proof? Look at some photos of oil wells or logging mills or coal mines... those places are dirty and gross.
