Why do some people look down on others just because they are different?

People look down on other people because they think they're better than them. They would also think that they don't belong with them or they may treat them as though they aren't human.

∙ 8y agothis is only because these people were never ever taught by their parents to respect other people of a different culture, race or creed, this is why it is important for us who know better to teach them how.
Once this is taught to all, the world would indeed be a better place for all! We can only hope and teach!

Why should you respect others?
Having proper respect means treating others as equally important, as in the Golden Rule (do unto others as you would have others do unto you). Respect is a social function, showing that you recognize what things are done to benefit you and others like you. Showing respect promotes harmony among families and other groups.
Why is shame destructive to self esteem?
Because you devalue yourself when you are embarrassed. You are making the statement to yourself and or others that by feeling shame, you are not being the best person or associated with the best people. It gets down to a social rank situation.
Do people who think highly of themselves think highly of other people too?
no people who think highly of themselves usually have a tendency to look down on others especially those who are less fortunate
