People would buy a pet tarantula just for the fun of it. It's like, why would you buy a dog? Because they are sweet and good companions. Why would you buy a tarantula? Because they could be entertaining to watch! Like buying a fish! Fish don't do anything! They are just fun to look at!
If you really were asking why people ought to buy tarantulas, then there are two kinds of answers:
(1) If you went out and caught your own you might capture one that is an endangered species. If you were outside of the U.S. then when you tried to bring it home with you it might get quarantined or you might get put in jail for having an endangered species in captivity. Even if it were not a member of an endagered species, it might be some kind of tarantula that just doesn't tolerate captivity well, or one that has the kind of venom that can put you to bed for a week. Either you, the tarantula, or even both of you could get hurt.
(2) If you buy a tarantula from a reputable dealer, you will get one that is healthy, that is the result of a captive breeding program, that probably is disease free and otherwise healthy, that is identified correctly as to genus and species, and that comes with care instructions that will let you give your new pet a good home. Nobody will be likely to get hurt.
I guess it's because they're an unusual 'pet' to keep - instead of the usual cat, dog, bird or hamster ! I can remember all the way back to my early childhood - always wanting a snake as a pet. My parents absolutely refused, so I waited until I'd grown up and moved out to my own place before starting my collection of reptiles. Some parents these days are a lot more understanding !

No, there aren't any tarantulas in Hawaii, at least not native to Hawaii. Occasionally, tarantulas among other species are brought into Hawaii illegally. Many species of mammales, reptiles and insects are prohibited from importation to Hawaii.

I am not an expert on tarantulas but i have a few of them as pets. The generally will run away from anything that they do not see as food. Some tarantulas will show a thread display but being attacked by one is highly unlikely... I have a Brazilian Birdeater which is the 2nd largest tarantula in the world and even it would rather though me with hairs and retreat... PS tarantulas venom is generally not toxic to humans unless you are allergic to bee venom... So there is really no need to be scarred of tarantulas at all.
the turantula is like a monster ready to atack
yes they are very good pets
