Those names are different attributes to Allah. However, those names are assigned to Allah by Allah in Quran. So, it is out of debate to justify them. we should have have faith in those names with no discussion. refer to question below.

There are 99 names of Allah because the names that are part of the 99 names are gods favourite names of all. And when someone has been named one of those names and dies he will be upset because they are his beloved names and he thinks that they are the most important names in his whole life. He loves them names but he thinks everybodys name is nice to but them 99 names are his best.

Allah is named or known by his attributes. 99 attributes of Allah mentioned in the Quran. It is not literal names as such, but merely how we as people address Allah.

The Creator; The Sustainer; The Almighty; The praisworthy; The Inheritor; ... (etc).

In the Quran it is written that All beautiful names belong to Allah. So Allah is not limited to a specific number of names.
