There are so many churches in England because the whole country was divided into parishes, each of which had to build a church. A parish could only extend for walking distance as it was obligatory for everyone to go to church and the only means of getting there for most people was on foot.
There are probably so many Christians in the world today because the idea of eternal life appeals to people. No one want to believe that death is the End. It also gives a fairly enlightened view on God and although some rules of the church may not be agreeable to everyone the basis is fundamentally good.
They are many christians by name 2 billion roundabouts. But true christians who practise their faith are few, mainly i think is that more and more people are realising the religious christian god is not plausible.
because in 15th century Martin Luther got pissed off with the way priests were hypocrites and started his own denomination, so did John Calvin and many others... when the counter-reformation started and the roman-catholic church has been put into order they didnt really like each other so we didnt give each other a big hug and joined together... is it me or you didnt go to the primary school?
Each individual will have their own reasons. Christianity is essentially a large family, some are there simply because they have never known anything different or because they want to feel included. Of course, the reason that Christianity continues to grow and flourish is simply because there is truth in it.
A Christian by definition is one who follows the teachings of Christ and imitates him to the extent an imperfect human can. It was foretold in The Bible, see(Acts 20:30) that "From among you yourselves (Christ's Followers) men will rise up and speak twisted things to draw away the disciples after themselves" Shortly after the death of the last apostle, this is exactly what happened. Men subverted Jesus teachings to gain followers after themselves all under the label of '"Christianity" see (2 Peter 2:1,3) "There will be false teachers among you. These will bring destructive sects and will disown even the owner that brought them (Jesus)...Also, with covetousness they will exploit you with counterfeit words". Because of the deviation from the actual teachings and example of Christ Jesus you now have a great number of "Christians" with all types of different and opposing beliefs. Fortunately, with a personal study of Jesus's life and teachings, True Christianity can be found. (2 John 9,10)" Every one that pushes ahead and does not remain in the teachings of the Christ does not have God....If anyone comes to you and does not bring his teaching, never receive him into your homes or say a greeting to him" .I have found that the only "Christian" organization actually following Jesus teachings are Jehovah's Witnesses. I encourage you to investigate this for yourself.
That's because:* Different people have different opinions - in this case, about religious ideas.
* There is no central authority to do an authoritative interpretation of Christian beliefs - at least, not an authority that is recognized by all Christians.
Christians are not allowed in Mecca, so there are no churches in Mecca.
SO MANY around 360
There are an estimated 70 million Christians in China. The majority of them attend what are known as house churches; churches that are not recognized by the Chinese government, and that meet in houses. So it is very hard to say how many churches there are in China, since we would have to know how many of these house churches there are, and they meet in secret, so we can't possibly know just how many there are.
because Christianity is the biggest religion.
There are many churches and many different beliefs among them. While the practices of one church may suggest to another that that church misunderstands Christianity, the reality is that most of the churches are correct in their own way.
Most churches got Bibles so the clergy could read the liturgy. Many churches had bells, though they were expensive, and these were used to call people to church, to call people so they could be told of important events, and as warnings Many churches go pews for people to sit on.
