The Battle of Bunker Hill (more accurately Breed's Hill) constituted the first major battle of the American Revolution (1775-1783). Although the British accomplished their objective, they did so at a heavy cost. This moral victory united the Americans in their opposition to the British. Also Colonists throughout America realized that the conflict was no longer restricted to Boston and or Massachusetts, and Bunker Hill became a rallying cry of the patriots in every contest of the war. Together with Lexington and Concord, Bunker Hill also demonstrated that American militia was capable of standing up to the best that the British could offer.

Bunker Hill in Boston, and nearby Breed's Hill, were the site of an early battle in the American Revolution. Just two months into the war, on June 17, 1775, the colonial forces stood up to the British troops and inflicted twice as many casualties as they suffered. The Americans retreated, but the British lost many experienced soldiers.

The British Army had just burned down the town of Charlestown, Massachusetts. They acted like they were going to continue burning down towns throughout Massachusetts.

An American Army dug in to face them on Breeds Hill. The British Army kept attacking. The Americans kept killing them until the Americans ran out of ammunition. Only then did the Americans retreat to seek more ammunition. It was called The Battle of Bunker Hill.

As a result of that battle, the British changed their minds about pillaging the countryside.

The Battle at Bunker Hill is important because the British attempted to fight off the American army 3 times and were defeated twice, but the third time the Americans had to surrender (because they were out of ammunition.) At the time, the British army was the strongest in the world, and although the British won that battle, the Americans won the moral victory. They realized that if the only reason they had to surrender was because they ran out of ammo, that they had a fighting chance in winning the war.

is this the right answer anybody who wrote this???????? plz answer back.
