Bats can fly, and they are mammals. They are also the only mammals capable of free flight.

There are several basic reasons why mammals cannot fly:

  • Their bones are heavier than those of birds.
  • They do not have wings.
  • They do not have the chest muscles necessary to attain the lift needed, even if they did have wings.

because they don't have wings to fly, and besides, their bones and weight is TOO heavy to go in the air even if they did have wings.

No. No dolphins do not fly. Although they do fly when they have to go to heaven. THeir spirit flys up.

Because dolphins have lungs. If they breathed in water, they would drown. They need gills if they could breathe underwater.

Dolphins and whales are land mammals that moved back into the water. Like all mammals they have lungs not gills and have to breath air.
