In a solid like steel, the atoms are packed as close together as possible. This being the case they can not be compressed together further so you can not compress (reduce the volume of) a solid block of steel.
Its because the the molecules of the wooden block is so tightly packed. But you can break it.
the physical characteristics of a non metal are not ductile meaning it cant be drawn into wires non mallable meaning it cant be rolled into thin sheets also its poor in luster meaning its not shinny also nonmetals are brittle
In solids and liquids the molecules are already very close together so they can't be squeezed together much more than that. In a gas molecules are very spread out so they can be compressed.
you cant you cant
Balloons are solids. They are filled with gases.
Solid water is ice, and is therefore much colder than liquid water. It is also less dense, and as a solid it is harder and stronger. Liquid water takes the shape of its container, whereas solid water retains its shape always, and liquid water can draw itself up thin tubes by capillary action.
Because a solid allready has a form that is why you cant compress it
You can figure it out because a solid is the state of matter that has a definite shape and takes up a definite amount of space.
BECAUSE in case of stone the molecules are closly packed and they have no vacant space between them and they have not the ability to close to each other so when we compress a stone we cant compress it
Yes it is, it is a solid with many air holes so you can compress it, but then it goes back into it original shape. Unlike Liquids and Gases, which cant.
no. it cant be converted to solid
You cant
they dont? its solid, they cant move.
You cant
you cant
u cant use it ..
You cant!
you cant
