He was not half-Jewish. This is one of those myths that refuses to die. There is no credible evidence that Hitler was (pick one) half Jewish, raised by Jews, or had a Jewish father. On the other hand, there is a lot of evidence that Hitler was a bigoted man who unfairly blamed Jews for Germany's problems, and it had nothing whatsoever to do with any alleged family connections.

First, there's no evidence that Hitler was a Jew. Adolph Hitler was the son of Klara Polzl and Alois Hitler. Klara was a devout Roman Catholic. Alois was the illegitimate son of Maria Schicklgruber was Catholic, but apparently not devout. Because Alois was illegitimate, there was no way to prove that Adolph was of "pure Aryan descent", but it is clear that his maternal line was not Jewish and he was not raised as a Jew.

But let's assume, for the sake of argument, that Hitler was Jewish. How could a Jew hate Jews? Well, it is a fact that some do, and in fact, you can find examples of people from many minorities who hate their minority group. The keys to such self hatred are typically that the person be largely assimilated into the majority, with no strong connection other than birth with the minority group. If they feel that their full assimilation is blocked by the minority they are involuntarily associated with, they may come to hate their minority status and to hate the very existence of the minority that gives them that status.
