He believed that his master Aryan race(blond-haired and blue eyed members of the caucasoid sub-species -- Caucasian or "white" people) needed to conquer all other races/sub-species of humans that he felt were impure as well as non-master race quality humans of the caucasoid sub-species--Caucasian people that did not have blond hair and blue eyes. In performing this task, he believed that he would create a elite race/sub-species of humans worthy of myth and legend like the fabled Norse gods and goddesses. He had a strong belief that his special section of the caucasoid sub-species that he would use to build his master race were descendants of the gods and goddesses themselves. The reason that Hitler came to be the dictator of Germany was because that was the only way to make his crazed fantasy a reality. He had contracted syphillis earlier in his life, and actually wrote a book called Mein Kompf or my struggle, detailing how he was going to make his mad fantasy a reality. This was a far cry from his early years as he grew up and his dream of becoming an artist, but he was not a very good one. He sold paintings to the local Christian Jews and non-Christian Jews in his town. Hitler was born into a Catholic family but he also had a Jewish genealogical background. When he was dictator, he made exceptions for only two Jewish people in Germany, himself and Jesus Christ.

His early life was not a happy one. His deep hatred off his father, which eventually spread to all Jews, Christian and non-Christian alike. He blamed the Jews for the loss of WW1. He also believed greatly in eugenics and the scientfici notion of "survival of the fittest". He intended to apply this socially to humans as well. Under this mentality, he came to view many other groups in addition to the Jews(Christian and non-Christian) such as the gypsies, the poles, the mentally and physically handicapped, and many others as something less that human and unfit to survive in his new plan, where his master race would be the fittest to survive. To make this happen, he needed a lot of power, otherwise the idea would be like any other musing and never make a difference in the world. Hitler was determined to make a difference in the world and see his sick twisted socialist dream become a reality. Not every country in Europe was going to roll over to his plans, so he needed to take over all of Europe to hav the people and resources to make it happen. He also saw himself as a conqueror like Napolean Bonapart and wanted to start an empire that would last 1000 years.

Hitler wanted to rid the world of the problems the world face. He wanted to create a perfect world rid of Jews(Christian and non-Christian) and anyone not the Aryan race including Caucasian people who did not have blond hair and blue eyes. Europe was just a stepping stone to create a larger army and a greater amount of people to back his cause so he could take on America and actually beat us.

Hitler wanted to spread the Nazi (National Socialism) idea, He also wanted to destroy the Jews(Christian and non-Christian) and many other groups of people using the prevailing scientific idea of the day eugenics and survival of the fittest

In the late 30's Hitler started off invading parts of Europe that were historically claimed as part of German territory until the partition of them from Germany after the Versailles Treaty of 1918 which was part of Germany's surrender in WW1, or had been part of other countries for hundreds of years but used to be part of German territory. Within these territories, there were Germans living.

Upon invading these territories, he may have found it so easy what with Germany's military might, that he decided that why should he stop there and with the idea of one Europe, one Nazi (National Socialist) empire seeming a reality in his eyes because of the Blitzkrieg (lightening war, fast German military tactics in overwhelming the opposing army) decided to invade whole countries including Austria with little resistance, invaded Czechoslovakia (Now Czech Republic and Slovakia respectively) and invaded Poland, France, Holland, Belgium, Yugoslavia, Greece, and more and after an invasion that was easy, gradually believed he and Nazi Germany (and its National Socialism way) were invincible after each successful invasion.

France was invaded for making Germany sign the Versailles treaty in a train carriage in Versailles in 1918, humiliating for Germany. Upon France's capitulation following Germany's invasion in 1940, Hitler made France sign their armistice in the very same train carriage in Versailles. With each conquered territory, Nazi policy set about crushing those who were considered less than human, and not the Aryan 'perfect' human, a member of the caucasoid sub-species (Caucasian) with blond hair, blue eyes, yet the majority of Nazi leadership including Hitler were not blond haired or blue eyed.

Britain who had a pact with Poland where if Poland was attacked, Britain would come to their aid.

Britain had verbally opposed Nazi Germany's existence since Churchill came to power as PM.

Thus, Hitler launched air raids on Britain to crush them into submission for an invasion, but the German Air force (Luftwaffe) were beaten back by the RAF in the 'Battle of Britain'. Hitler canceled the invasion of Britain which as an island, would be hard to invade, but still carried out air raids and a sea battle with Britain's Royal Navy and Merchant Navy that shipped supplies to Britain. If enough Merchant Navy ships were sunk, Britain may well have been starved into submission with loss of supplies.

The full scale invasion of Britain was postponed. Hitler did not want to merely have a treaty with his Socialist brother Stalin and let hime rule the neighboring empires as an equal. He wanted the non-Aryan Stalin and the Soviet people under his boots. Dead preferrably, but possibly as slaves as well. Hitler invaded the Soviet Union in 1941, with the so called excuse of the 'Judeo-Bolshevik' threat to a united Europe under Nazi Germany.

In reality, The Soviet Union had vast oil supplies that if captured, would give the Nazi Empire endless fuel for their war machine.

In 1945, Berlin would regret Hitler's decision, when the Red Army came a knocking at it's gates with overwhelming military force.

The attempted invasion of Britain had failed, and the invasion of the Soviet Union, was for Nazi Germany, one invasion too far. Stalin, realizing this his Socialist brother had stabbed him in the back, broke his treaty with Hitler.

Hitler and his left-wing National Socialist (Nazi Regime) was power mad, and believed the Nazis were superior to anything and anyone else.

What began as territorial claim of Germany by an evil regime which oppressed and killed people in Germany, ended in the creation of a Nazi Empire that for the time it existed, imposed it's cruel ideology on those that it oppressed in the lands it conquered, not only in Germany, but also out of it.

All of the previous s are extremely simplistic. Hitler didn't want to take over Europe, he wanted to conquer territory for the Germans in Eastern Europe. He planned a war with Poland and the Soviet Union but never wanted war with Britain. When Britain and France declared war on Germany on Sept.3, 1939 this caused the war to spread westward. Put down the comic book WWII History and try reading some of serious historians like Hugh Trevor-Roper. TV and Hollywood has really distorted history.

I think Hitler was a control freak, but, here are a few points I had hammered into me in history class:

-First, Hitler wanted to regain all the countries he saw as Germany's by right -Secondly, he wanted "lebensraum" or living space for the German people -Thirdly, he wanted the German race, the Aryan's, to have superiority -Fourthly, Hitler's aggression in parts of Europe caused Britain to go to war, therefore making Hitler decide to take over Britain - I do not think he intended to originally.

I saw a very interesting show on The History Channel about Hitler the other day. There was a second book written by Hitler after "Mein Kampf". It was full of rambling and nonsense, but he did make it very clear that to him, land equaled power. He eventually planned to conquer America, too, according to this second book. He saw the people that lived here as a perfect "race" of people. The US was wealthy, built good cars, and, in his eyes, was always on the forefront of creating the best and the latest. Hitler believed he would truly be satisfied if he could conquer a country full of "advanced" people. So, yes, it is true he wanted much of the world to be part of an Aryan nation. He wanted to do away with people that were "inferior" and create a pure, superhuman race that he could be in control of. Any countries that seemed advanced or wealthy in any way-he wanted to be in control of those countries. In his eyes, anyone that was opposed to his ideas, supposedly inferior to him, or anybody that intimidated him had to be destroyed. So, he had far bigger plans than what most of us today know about. I just thank God that the efforts and sacrifices of our Allied Forces paid off. I thank them unendingly.

Hitler thought he could do a good job of ruling Europe. You see, at his time, it faced the the Depression which hit Germany in 1930. Europe faced inflation and a large decrease in currency. For example: In July 1921, one dollar was equal to 76.7 marks (German currency). By November 1923, one dollar was equal to 4 million and 200 marks. This was a big problem spreading throughout Europe. Germany also had to deal with the Treaty of Versailles, which said that it was responsible for all problems in World War I, and it had to pay for everything. Hitler was not happy with its terms and wanted to change it. But his request wasn't granted and his only option was to rebel. He blamed all of the problems on the communists(which is interesting to note, because he believed in a slightly different type of socialism - national socialism or nazism) and Jews(Christian and non-Christian) and felt that it was his job to stop them. To do so, he had to destroy them and all who stood in his way. Hitler was a major leader but his beliefs caused him to do wrong. He could only trust himself to solve Europe's problems.

Hitler never wanted to control the whole of Europe. all he wanted was to create a greater Germany that had all Germany speaking people. He was forced to invade because the allies didn't give into his demands of the polish corridor after they gave him Austria, and Czechoslovakia.

It is true that Hitler never wanted to conquer Britain. He wanted peace with Britain, and since they declared war on him, it was up to him to bring them to terms, which explains the air raid, but no invasion. Every country was suspicious of each other during the war (Even Britain and America were weary of each other). With America not yet in the war, it was mainly a German-Anglo war and Hitler was eager to draw attention away from that fact so that the Germans and the British may one day be at peace again. So he invaded his "ally", the USSR, none is sure why he would do this because it opens up a second front, and that almost always fails. Hitler, being more of an artist than a war strategist, didn't learn from Napoleon's mistake.

At this time, Hitler is hoping for a treaty with Britain (and if he had got it he would have probably defeated the USSR) but the British weren't ready to throw in the towel. The British were getting stronger with every bomb that Hitler dropped. On the other side of the world, Japan makes her great mistake and drags America into the war. With the American economy already a wartime machine from lend-lease, the axis were doomed from that point (others may disagree as there are other pivotal moments later on, which I think might have delayed the end, but not prevented it). So to the question shallowly, to draw attention away from where it wasn't wanted.

'World power' status had been a long-standing German dream. This was Germany's second bid to change its status radically.

The initial aim was a vast empire in Europe, especially eastern Europe

Due in part to the draconic restrictions of the Treaty of Versailles (see above) and partly due to other countries handing German land to the Poles, Hitler needed to take over other countries to provide Lebensraum 'living room' and claim resources as WWI had devastated the country and destroyed its economy. For example, Germany had no iron ore with which to produce simple products, but other countries were iron rich.

Look, Hitler was well aware that war was coming. He built the entire economic policy of deficit spending during the 30's based on the idea that the conquered countries would supply him with wealth. Lebensrelm had some to do with the expansion of Germany, but the Social Darwinist idea of survival of the fittest, and the idea that the Germans were the fittest and thus deserved more than others did as well. Operation Sea Lion was the planed invasion of Britain, and to say that Hitler didn't want to invade Britain is dumb. Early in his chancellorship when he was discussing the possibility of Autarky, trying to be an ally with Britain was discussed, but it was decided that it was not possible with the plans that Hitler had in mind. Hitlers goal was to eliminate all non-Aryan peoples that he deemed to not be the fittest, and therefore less than human. High on his list were all Jews(Christian and non-Christian) and Bolshevism from Europe, and the best way to do that was taking over Europe and eliminating it then. Germany hated France since Versailles so its simple to understand why Germany would expand there, and also to find the war since Germany was basically broke by 1940. Some people argue that Hitler did not have any strategic bombers and this didn't not want large scale war, but that's false. First, that falls more on the hands of Goering that Hitler since the Air aspect of the military was under his control. Second, the medium twin engine bombers were Hitler and Goering ideal counterpart to the fast strike capability of the Blitzkrieg. Hitler wanted war. He wanted Europe. Like all socialist empires, Hitler's Nazi (National Socialist) Germany failed.

Hitler took over Europe because he hated his schooling experience now adays teachers are trying to bring back that experience. statistics show more kids commit suicide theses days because there school is way to hard. Hitler knew this and tried to stop it. It's a shame for us that he failed.

Answer:Is it a proven fact that he wanted to take over the world? Or is it just a popular belief, like the belief that the earth was flat and that the sun rotated around the earth?

The German war objective was to conquer lands in Eastern Europe and the area within Russia between it's western border and the Ural Mountains. This land was supposed to be settled and cultivated by Germans and or other "Aryan" (Northern European/Viking/Germanic) peoples and to serve as living space for German people, like the North American and Australian continents serve as living space for English people today. Western nations were attacked either because they were of great strategic importance and could not be lost to British occupation, or because they were, like Britain and France, aggressive towards Germany and would have interfered in the German plan to conquer the East of Europe. These Western and Southern European countries as well as possibly a few Eastern European countries not given in this list; Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, Denmark, Norway, Greece and Crete, were not to be occupied permanently, but only for as long as deemed necessary for Germany to reach its objectives in the East without military interference from those nations. The Northern African nations were also occupied for strategic reasons, to keep Italy in the war and to possibly bring Britain to terms or capitulation by cutting off the Suez Canal.

The following outtake from the answer below should be considered with caution: "...wanted to rid the world of secondary races he felt were inferior. "

Certain groups of people that were persecuted and eventually killed off in mass, like Jews, Gypsies, homosexuals, etc. were not killed because they were considered to be of an inferior race perse, but rather because they were considered to be detrimental to society because of their practises, or because they were considered as undermining the strength of the German nation because they held too many extra national loyalties, etc. These people were to be removed, either by killing or forced relocation, from newly German controlled regions. Whether it was an objective to persecute these peoples the world over, is debatable, but once again unlikely. Also, there was no plan to exterminate people of all races who were not white, like black people, Asians, etc.

Answer:Hitler was a Genocidal maniac, but at the same time, a genius. He thrived for domination and wanted to rid the world of secondary races he felt were inferior. However, oddly enough, Hitler was not even German himself. He was actually born in Austria. 1914

All of you are ignorant falling for falsified history. "The victors write the history books" remember? anyways, hitler wanted to undo the evils of the treaty of versailles by reclaiming all of the land stolen following the defeat of Germany in ww1. the allies and their ego simply could not let that happen and went to war with them. the real war however was on the eastern front where hitler was combating the bolsheiviks and stalin trying to take over the world. poland was used as a buffer and a foothold to attack them where they were vulnerable, that as well as they wanted to reclaim Danzig.

As for the Holocaust, its unfortunate but completely exaggerated. 6 million jews died of mainly starvation and disease simply because the food supply was running low. initially, hitler wanted to relocate the jews to madagascar or Siberia and even cooperated with the zionists to send them to palestine. war broke out and the operation was to expensive to conduct. judea declared war on Germany, and hitler couldnt afford to keep the powerful jews in society, so he put them in abandoned military forts at first, known today as concentration camps.

Hitler believed that the Germanic races were superior to other races and as such would eventually take-over the world. He didn't believe that Germany was big enough for the expansion of the superior German race and needed 'living space'. The invasion of Western Europe was mainly to stop opposition from France etc... ---- Like all would be conquerers; Being human they make two basic errors: 1. They have a fealing of some form of superiorety, and if they can make the world live by their laws, the human race will be able to live in peace, and plenty. 2. they make the error of excluding spirituality. America feals their form of Democratic government; although not perfect; is the best there is! But all forms of government are paradoxical; thus they will eventually divide, and self distruct. history has proved this.
