Why did Lord Voldemort want the philosopher's stone?
The Philosopher's Stone produces the Elixir of Life which makes the drinker immortal, which was something Lord Voldemort always wanted to achieve.
You could only get the philosopher's stone out of the mirror if you wanted the stone, but didn't want to use it. Professor Quirrell wanted to use the stone to restore Lord Voldemort to power. Harry wanted it to prevent that from happening, but had no intention of using the stone for himself. Therefore the mirror presented it to him.
It was never about killing somebody, it was about stopping Lord Voldemort from killing more innocent people. Unfortunately, the only way to do that was to kill him. Harry wanted to stop Voldemort from hurting his friends, family and lots of innocents witches, wizards and muggles. Voldemort started a war, Harry ended it.
Albus Dumbledore modified the Mirror of Erised and hid the philosopher's stone inside. Only somebody who wanted the stone, but didn't want to use it, could get the stone from the mirror. Professor Quirrell wanted the stone for selfish reasons and so was unable to get it, but the mirror gave it to Harry because he wanted to protect it. This meant that Lord Voldemort didn't get the stone and couldn't return to power.
Lord Voldemort wasn't out to kill Lily and James, it was Harry he wanted to kill. They just got in the way. He wanted to kill Harry because a prophecy stated that the person who would destroy Voldemort would be born at the end of July. Voldemort, thinking that meant Harry, then fulfilled the second part of the prophesy by marking him as his enemy when he attempted to kill him.
Cedric Diggory was murdered using the Killing Curse (Avada Kedavra) by Peter Pettigrew on Lord Voldemort's order. Voldemort wanted to get to Harry and clearly, Diggory was in his way which is why Voldemort did away with him. Also, Lord Voldemort did not want anyone living to warn everyone that he had returned. Considering he planned on killing Potter, Voldemort did not think even he would live to warn anyone.
If you're talking about Voldemort, his real name is Tom Marvolo Riddle. He's called Lord Voldemort because his father was a muggle and also named Tom Riddle and he didn't want to have the same name as a muggle. Also, in the Chamber of Secrets it's revealed that Tom Marvolo Riddle is an anagram with I am Lord Voldemort.
he believes it holds the answer to why he could not kill Harry, and will give him the information on how to kill Harry. because that was what part of what snape heard. Neville longbottom is also one possibility but lord voldemort chose harry instead of Neville. at first voldemort was going to spare lily but she wouldn't bugde so he killed her to kill harry.but couldn't make it.
Lord Voldemort wanted Harry Potter dead because of the following prophecy: "The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches...Born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies...and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not...and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives...." Prophecy made to Albus…
He didn't want to because that would be more complicated, but he had to. Severus Snape joined the Death Eaters straight out of school. After Lily Evans' life was put in danger he convinced Voldemort he was joining the Order of the Phoenix as a spy for them. In reality, he was spying on the Death Eaters for the Order and only passing on select information to Voldemort. As time went on this information had…
Not everyone wants to kill Harry. Just Lord Voldemort and his followers. A prophecy made before Harry's birth said that a child born at the end of July would have the power to vanquish the Dark Lord - who would mark him as his equal. Not knowing the second part, Lord Voldemort tried to kill the Potter's who were put in hiding thus marking Harry (as Neville Longbottom also fit the profile). Eventually, the Potter's…
Because of the prophecy that was revealed in the 5th book: The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches… born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies … and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not … and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other…
Because he was a threat to his plan. Besides, he was probably jelous of his magnificent beard too! I mean, it is a amazing beard, so long and wispy, and voldemort is like a bowling ball. * You may want to work on your English Grammar and spelling chap. Now I need to go and have a delightful cup of tea with my good friend Richard, to talk about Politics.
Not everyone wants to sleep with Voldemort. Some people like him because he's powerful, some people like him because he's evil. Some people like him because he's misunderstood, and some people just like him because he's their version of beauty (in short, he's hot to them). Also, some people like him because they believe it's subversive or cool to do so. Believe me, most people don't want to sleep with Voldemort.
He originally wanted to kill Harry alone because Harry Potter was, according to a prophecy Severus Snape overheard, the baby with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord. However, the prophecy did not include his name, but only the requirements that the baby would have to fulfill, and Neville also fit these requirements, though Voldemort chose Harry to be his enemy by trying to kill him. To answer the question, Voldemort saw Harry as a…
well it really depends whether I want to be a good guy or bad guy. If I were a good guy I would be harry potter if i were a bad guy i would probably be voldemort. Answer: Mine is Lord Voldemort, not that I'm bad. Doesn't really matter whether good or bad. It's because of the complexity of his character that made him my favorite.
