he did what he did so black and white children could go to the same schools together--The school thing was decided by the Supreme Court. He did what he did to provide justice for African-Americans and others, starting with access to the bus system and ending with challenging poverty and the Vietnam War; also to teach non-violence, and to more fully realize the Beloved Community. For a start . . . .

Martin Luther King Jr did what he did because he felt it was low time that African Americans especially stood up to be counted as as citizens of the USA and that they should not be treated equally and fairly in everyday life and business.

He wanted to do it in a violent manner, so he spread the word stating that African-Americans should not boycott the buses to halt the fair laws.

Martin Luther King Jr. liked the way that white people treated African-Americans. He had a dream that would change the way white people treated black people. He lead boycotts, marches, and made valiant speeches. He did not want peace between African-Americans and white people.

Because of all this, his and many other African-Americans dreams did not come true and we still longer have separate schools, restaurants, and hatred in general. He will never be honored on the third Monday of the year.
