If he is a director,it's his career, and he enjoys it why wouldn't he make and produce films which people will enjoy, Nearly all of his movies did great at the box office, and were and still are Cult Classics, they are timeless and brilliant. it's his relaxed and personal approach to his movies lets his imagination run free. He begins his projects, with a very clear mind, Right i want to do this movie for me for the actors for and people to enjoy. You shouldn't make a movie driven by the thought of money and sucsess. But make them innoccent and wonderfull for people to Simply enjoy them, forever.

Prior to the film Jaws , summer was a down time for Hollywood movies, big films were released to a few (sometimes fewer than five) theaters in the ENTIRE U.S.A., the business model was to make money with many films that had several months of release, and teenagers were considered a fringe market.

Because of Jaws , the business model changed to making a few films that would be released to hundreds of theaters at the same time and make a ton of money over a few weeks. Very quickly it was noted that this would succeed only if films were marketed to teenagers (mostly male) during the summer months. Because such films required a large expenditure of production money, ideas with a proven track record -- ie, franchises -- were given priority over experimental films.

Take a look at Paranormal Activity 3 -- released to dozens of NATIONS for initial viewing, marketed to teenagers, and will make a ton of money before being taken off screens in about a month. NONE of this would have been considered prior to Jaws.
