During WW II there was a tremendous demand for metal, to be used to manufacture tanks, bombs, bullets, and other military supplies. To keep up with this demand it was useful to recycle scrap metal.

During world war 2, people had to recycle because of the lack of supplies. The Germans attacked many of the ships that brought supplies to our country so people were forced to recycle! Hope that helped!! :)
