∙ 12y agoEngland wanted to colonize lands that later became the US and other countries in order to obtain access to raw materials that were beginning to grow scarcer in Britain, such as timber for ship building, and in order to have more convenient access to fisheries. they also saw value in preventing their European rivals from taking all of North America, and in letting their discontented move further away.
