Best Answer

Because the Japanese attacked(and killed)the people on Pearl Harbor.
because they wanted to
Japan was loosing the war. The United States have won all fronts of the war up to Okinawa which was the last front before taking down Japan. The bomb was used to end the war and save the lives of the troops who would fight the Japanese in the mainland.
President Truman stated the he needed to end the war and to collapse Japan's means to make war ever again.
The drop on Hiroshima was of course not the first test of an atomic bomb. They did a number of tests in the American southwest.

There was no belief that the bomb would do no damage. Why would they consider using a bomb they wouldn't? They were surprised at the amount of destruction, however.
because they were mean to the usa
i dont think they really had a reason other than to stop the war, instead of asking should we drop the bomb they asked when should we drop it

It only became a question of when once the Japanese refused to surrender.
