The German front lines needed to be pushed back before the people could be helped. A good question is why didnt more of the German public get involved and try to help hide those that Hitler and his Nazi forces were putting into those camps. Some did do what they could but there were not enough of them to truly make an impact on the number of camp deaths.

They were too busy fighting the Japanese.

No one really knew what was going on. There were rumours but few believed them. Only at the end of the war were the death camps exposed, and all of them were in Soviet liberated territory.

Even if we all knew what was happening, what could anyone do about it anyway?

America went into a depression after WWI, so they tried to stay out of another war to avoid another depression. Some people say that America did not know about the Holocaust. To sum it up, they didn't want another war.

because America was going through their Great Derpresion, and the people there could barely keep their own people alive, plus they had no idea what was going on over in Germany and in all the other countries.
