Why couldn't max be in the wizard competition on wizards of Waverly place?

In terms of the Wizards of Waverly Place movie, the Wizard Competition took place after Max had been sucked into the vortex that threatened to erase Alex, Justin, and Max from existence after Alex wished their parents had never met.

∙ 13y agoThey didn't he's filming a new movie. I don't remember what it's called. They had to find a excuse for why max is gone. (he got turned into a little girl) He will come back after their done filming.

∙ 12y agobecause the writers wanted the wizardcompetition to come down to alex and Justin so to eliminate max theyadded a fresh face the little girl. personally i think alex will win and Justin will become something elese oh yeah Jake t. Austin is cute<3

∙ 13y agoHe probably was starring in some other show, and they needed to replace him for the time-being. Sure enough, Maxine showed up and they came up with the perfect show to switch the two. I guess you'll have to wait and see when Max Russo returns to Wizards of Waverly Place. (I'm waiting too)
