A large army needs a vast amount of transportation vehicles; whether they be horses, wagons, trains, or trucks. An army without those items...MARCHES. In civilian terms...they walk. Armies have to move (march) to battlefields; very seldom do Armies get to fight a battle where they are encamped. Armies go to battles; battles seldom come to them (unless it's a surprise attack). this answer is crap!! it doesnt answer the question!!
