The Titanic floated because, like all ships, it displaced an amount of water that weighed more than the ship itself did. When it collided with an iceberg and its hull was torn open, water rushed in and weighted the ship down, causing it to sink.

The Titanic was going too fast and it would have taken a long time to turn around. What didn't help was that the waters were so calm that night that there would've been no breaking water at the base of the iceberg and the men in the crow's nest were missing their binoculars. When the Titanic tried to go around the iceberg, the underwater part of the iceberg literally scraped the hull and punctured holes in it. 5 watertight compartments were flooded, but the ship was designed to stay afloat if only a maximum of 4 compartments were breached

If you mean "Why did" the reason is, when the iceberg struck the ship, it tore a hole in the keel and water leaked in.

Because ity took awhile for the water to flood the bottom of the ship.

Why does the titanic ship float in the waters?

The buoyancy of Titanic, and other large vessels, is a carefully calculated amalgam of air, solid materials (wood or metal) and ballast. Thomas Andrews, who took courses in naval engineering understood this and correctly predicted Titanic's sinking.

How does an objects size and shape affect buoyancy?

Well, buoyancy is capacity to float in liquid. So the object needs to have air to make it float an example for an boat the Titanic for example was really heavy it was made out of steel so it had air in the bottom to make the ship float.
