World War II brought a lot of suffering and hardship to thousands of people. Families were broken up as men were sent up to the front lines to fight for their country, some never to return. Children were sent out of the cities to stay with strangers, away from the bombing. But through all of this, a new role for women began to emerge which was to change their position in society forever. Basically men were sent away to fight for there country. well most of them anyway. this ment that the remaining men that stayed behind worked in factrories ect , but there still wasnt enough help so they brought women into help with all of these jobs such as , joining the RAF , Navy , the land army , women in nursing and in industrys to help build planes ect.
With so many men in the armed forces, women were needed to work on farms and factories.
Yes, there were women in world war 1 and 2. The women had to work on farms and grow food for the men
See Rosie the Riveter.
In some parts of the world they were forced to work, in others they did it from a sense of patriotism

Women who went to work in factories
Women helped out in World War 2 by working in factories and creating ammunition, aircrafts and boats. They would also work on the land and farm.
the main role of women during world war 2, was to build planes, ships, guns, and anything else to win the war. Rosie the riveters was a popular name for the women who left their homes and went to work at factories.
Women were needed because so many men were in the military.
