Normally when you go before the court and explain your situation, the judge explains your sentence and why he is giving it to you. That seems a little harsh for speeding 10 miles an hour over the speed limit and running a red light.If you are asking that question on WikiAnswers, it indicates that you were not listening when the judge explained his reasons for the harsh sentence.
