in the poem "the odyssey," Odysseus himself trys to be clever and tells the cyclops his name is Nohbdy. so when they stabbed the cyclops' eye, the cyclops shouted nobody has done this to me! But, when Odysseus is on his way to leave the island, he gloats and says "it is i Odysseus!"
Odyesseus tells the cyclopes that his name is nohbody, and the cyclopes yells "nohbody has blinded me!" That made the other cyclopes' think that all was well. :)
He said his name was Nobody then he gave rum to the cyclops so he went to sleep then he sharpened a spear, heated it in the fire and stabbed the cyclops in the eye with it then he tied himself and his men underneath the sheep and sailed off and the cyclops yelled "Nobody has blinded me!" so the other cyclopses (cyclopi?) didn't think he ment someone had blinded him.
When Odysseus introduced himself as "No Man," he cunningly deceived Polyphemus, the Cyclops. By doing so, Odysseus made it difficult for Polyphemus to identify him later when seeking vengeance. As a result, when Odysseus and his men blinded the Cyclops and escaped, Polyphemus couldn't call out a specific name for help, allowing Odysseus to continue on his journey without immediate retribution.
Odysseus tells Polyphemus that his name was No Man, or Nobody, to trick the cyclops as shown later: When the cyclops called for help he says, "No Man did this!", "No Man has blinded me", "No Man is hurting me!" making him look like a fool to the other cyclops, and casting doubt as to whether the injuring event in question has actually happened. This happened in book 9, 'The Cyclops'. Odysseus is known for his wisdom and his cunning ways. He realized that the Cyclops must be attacked for him to save himself and his crew, and planned far in advance so that the other Cyclops do not interfere when the time came. Polyphemus was easily fooled.
The answer is Uranus, or at least it was for me for a crossword puzzle for a planet project. I believe that the father of the Cyclops' is Neptune. Both answers are correct, depending on which Cyclopes you are looking for. Ouranos (Uranus) was the father of the three giant Cyclopes, Arges, Brontes and Steropes, the forgers of Zeus' lightning bolts and Hephaestus' helpers. Polyphemus, the cyclops from the Odyssey, was a son of Neptune; presumably along with the others on the island.

This was due to Odysseus being very clever. When the Cyclops asked Odysseus what his name was - he stated that his name sounded like "nobody" so when the Cyclops' brothers asked him who blinded him he replied: "Nobody blinded me."
No - other than the original three Cyclopes, who were the sons of Gaia, the Cyclopes were the sons of Poseidon.
The other Cyclopes assume that nothing/nobody is the source of pain.

Cyclops are creatures from greak myths and they spend time crafting weapons and other things. One cyclops I know of was a shepard. At the time of the titanomancy cyclopes were forgers and ironsmiths.
According to Greek Mythology, Cyclopes were three very large creatures, with frightening features. Their features included, a single eye in the middle of its forhead. Those however, are physical features of theses horrifying monsters. Some of its mental habits include eating the bodies of human beings. Some people may say that these "beasts" were very grusome.
Polyphemus lived on an island off of the land of the Cyclopes. His home was a cave on the island. Homer does not give a name to the lands; it is just called the land of the Cyclopes.
Well there was a smithy race of Cyclopes whose parent were Gaea (Mother Earth) and Uranus (Father Sky), they were bound in the Underworld by their father for their ugliness, but in later myth Poseidon was the father of the Cyclops, Polyphemus, who Odysseus killed. There is more than one cyclops, and they have different fathers. The original three Cyclopes were sons of Ouranos (Uranus) and Gaea. He was so appalled by his offspring, and fearful of their great size, that he imprisoned them in Tartarus. The other well known Cyclops was Polyphemus, the cyclops shepherd that trapped Odysseus and his crew, devouring them. That Cyclops was an offspring of Poseidon.
The original three Cyclopes: Brontes, Steropes and Arges, lived in the heart of the earth with Hephaestus, helping him forge for the gods. They were the ones who created Zeus' thunderbolts. Later Greeks and the Romans identified Mt. Aetna in Sicily as their home. Other Cyclopes, monstrous sons of Poseidon, usually lived in caves or hovels by the sea.
He was screaming so the other Cyclopes would come over and help him. Instead they yelled back and asked him who was hurting him. Polyphemus says noman was hurting him, (Noman was the name Odysseus gave him). The other Cyclopes thought Polyphemus meant no one was hurting him, so they left. Odyssey book 9
