Women have always had rights. In the USA those have been guaranteed by Constitution. No women can be compelled to give evidence against themselves, or to be convicted twice of the same crime, or to surrender the right to speedy trial or right to bear arms.
All countries have women's rights, however the definition of those rights and liberties varies from country to country. Most Muslim countries unofficially recognize the traditional limitations imposed on women by conservative Muslim beliefs, that is, limitations on education, dress, driving, socialization, being seen in public etc.
whenever they say no they mean yes. another is women can't drive.
Society has taught them that men have more rights than women. This has been going on for hundreds of years., so men have learned invalidate a woman's knowledge or thoughts. This is has been part of the same reasoning that didn't allow women an education, to vote, or to have rights. It isn't until the last 10-15 years that women have gained strides toward equality with men. Some men still follow this outdated macho philosophy that women are to be kept at home taking care of children.
This has been an ongoing process that still isn't over. In 1920 women ( except black) got the right to vote with the 19th amendment. Yet, that still didn't give equal rights in many areas. As late as the 1980's the military wouldn't allow women to be fighter pilots, it was in the 1970's that women gained the right to have their own credit. Still, today some companies ( insurance is one) still keeps the main person as the husband. In 1991 I had to get my exhusband's signature to get my own car insurance. If you look at the number of women in government there are less than there are men. A few women run major companies and women as a whole are paid less for doing the same job as man.
some cultures dont allow women or girls to take part in sportts so their for they will not be useing their gross motor sports as much as thoose who are allowed to.
We do like other women, or we would not love our mothers, grandmothers and female friends. Some women might be jealous of each other, but some men are too (especially when other men have more girlfriends).
There are some countries in the world, such as Saudi Arabia, in which men have more rights than women do. In other countries, such as the US, the legal rights of both sexes are exactly the same.
IN 1869 according to some history website
This speech was about women's rights. It was to inform the world about what some women and girls have to go through.
Questions pertaining to equal rights for women would include, in what ways do women have less rights than men, how does this vary in different countries, and what do you think should be done about it.
Women's rights is a joke.
women's rights are protected by some documents
In a country where a majority think that women's rights should be diminished. Just because it's a democracy doesn't guarantee that an election result will automatically be good for human rights.
Yes, all countries have rights. Some have less than others.
only since 1990 did men and women have the same rights.
You need to narrow your question at least to one country. Women's rights are vastly different around the world from the equal rights in the West to only having the same status as property in some countries in the Middle East and Africa. You can read of some of the milestones regarding women's rights in the United States at the related question link provided below.
The right to vote as part of the general women's rights movement was included in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. However, simply because the UN is fairly ineffectual at enforcing its policy, many countries did not enact leglislation in accord with it until well afterward; some countries today still do not extend the same rights to women as to men.
Some may use the term women's libber. I think you are forward and progressive thinker if you are for women's rights.
