To clarify, we do not worship anyone but God himself. We, a monotheistic religion do not worship someone that is under the rule of God, it is illogical. Saints did not do good things to be worshipped, they did good things because they wanted to serve God, to bring glory to his name. Their works weren't meant to bring attention to themselves, but to God, but they can't completely keep themselves humble once they have become canonized as saints.

What appears to be worshipping saints is really just asking them to intercede for us2, and asking them to pray for us*. We also venerate and honour these saints as well, praising them but not worshippnig them.

It has nothing to do with worshipping saints but honouring them and praying to God through them.

---- *We know that we can pray directly to God, but this is a more humble way of praying to Him. Also, they are saints, they are close to the Lord so their prayers would be more powerful than ours, since they are in heaven, they already know how to perfectly pray to God.

2 Pray to God through someone else. Kind of like asking someone to tell another person something. One exapmle of this is Moses, only he could talk to God so people would ask Him to tell God.

Why did Jeroboam build temples in Dan and Bethel?

A:1 Kings chapter 12 tells us that the Israelite king Jeroboam made two calves of gold, setting one up in Bethel and one in Dan. He made priests and ordained a national feast day to the god symbolised by these calves, and the people came to worship. It may be that some of the biblical background of the split from Judah is not historical, after all the people of Israel should have been too poor to build two golden calves and their temples, but there is little doubt that the early Israelites did indeed have these temples in Dan and Bethel. We know the moon god was represented at times by a bull, but at other times by a golden calf. This account is consistent with clues of moon god worship found in the stories of the Exodus and of the Israelite patriarchs. From this it can be seen that the moon god was a national god of Israel. The temples were for the worship of the moon god.

What is the paragraph where the ten commandments are being broken?

A Biblical passage (or, paragraph) in which the Ten Commandments are broken is found in the Old Testament book of Exodus, Chapter 32. Here, the Israelites build and then worship a 'Golden Calf,' which is an explicit violation of the First Commandment: 'Thou shalt have no other gods before me.'

Do Catholics worship a statue?

Roman Catholic AnswerCatholics were founded by Our Blessed Lord on St. Peter when He said, "on this rock, I will build my Church." It was born from His side as He hung dead on the Cross and was pierced by a sword, and shown to the world fifty days later on the feast of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit descended on the Apostles. Catholics therefore worship the One God, and His Son, Our Blessed Lord; they also believe in the Ten Commandments which specifically outlaw worshipping idols. Catholics are Christians so they would not do anything so insane as to worship a statue.
