Well, the word heaven is often generally used for the entirety of what is in afterlife. So this is what most Christians are referring to. And Near Death Experiences help document that we do indeed go to another realm when our souls leave our bodies. What Jesus is most likely telling us is that the specific realm of the Eternal God is separate and special and not the same as the place we all actually show up at when we die. Its kinda like how you are born here on planet earth, and obviously can't visit the other planets or the rest of the galaxy without first finding a spaceship or teleport of some kind. The same is probably similar in heaven. We will all first arrive on a heavenly planet or entrance kingdom of some kind. And maybe one of the rewards for doing good in this life is being able to travel to various other places or planets or even separate universes in God's entire heavenly realm.

The majority Church in Christianity teaches and nearly all 'daughter' churches maintain the same teaching, that when we die, our 'soul' is immediately judged and receives his/her eternal retribution - blessed or damned (see related link below). Many have said that the book 'Dante's Inferno' reflects more the current concept of heaven and hell than the Scripture actually states.

There are many Scriptures that clearly tell us that Patriarchs and Prophets did not and have not ascended into Heaven as is the popular teaching over time. Kind David was said to be greatly loved by God, yet the Apostle Peter was inspired to record in Acts 2:29-34 that David is in the grave:

Acts 2:29-34

New International Version (NIV)

29 "Fellow Israelites, I can tell you confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried, and his tomb is here to this day.

Additionally, as noted in the question, Jesus stated clearly that no one but He has ascended into the 3rd Heaven where the Throne of God is in the spiritual world (see John 3:13). Indeed, Christ never promised Christians heaven after they died. The New Testament plainly says that of the faithful men and women who had gone before-such spiritual giants as Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph and Moses -noting some of those listed in Hebrews 11 (the Faith Chapter) - not even one of these has ascended to heaven. In fact, Hebrews 11:39 says, "These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised" (NIV) (promise of eternal life within the God Family as sons and daughters, spiritually).

The Bible teaches that when we die, we all sleep and await the 7th trumpet call to Judgment (Ecclesiastes 9:5; Job 14:10-12; and Revelation 11:15). Our 'souls' do not live on as is also a popular majority teaching (see Ezekiel 18: 4 & 20). Our spirit (essences or power within us - mind power) returns to God awaiting Judgement (Ecclesiastes 12:7; and Ezekiel 37 picturing the new physical body for the returning of our spirit).

We all will live again and be judged by the sacrifice of Jesus (John 11:25-26). We all will be resurrected (1 Corinthians 15:12-21; Job 14:13-15 - note all of 1 Corinthians emphasizes that Christ will resurrect all who are faithful to Him). We all will be raised up on the Last Day (John 6:44; Hebrews 6:1:2). Some to become spiritual sons and daughters in the coming Kingdom of God on the New Earth, and some fewer to their 2nd death (Revealtion 2:11; 20:6,14; and 21:8).

Who do Christians believe was the Jewish Messiah?

Christians believe that Jesus was the Jewish Messiah. Jews disagree.

Are Disciples of Christ are Jews or Gentiles?

The Disciples of Christ are Christian, from the Protestant branch of Christianity. Jewish people generally do not believe that "Christ" has come yet, and those people who do believe he came are called Christians (followers of Jesus Christ). So, the Disciples of Christ would be gentiles, since they are not Jews. It is worth noting that "Disciples of Christ" is the name of a particular church, not a general term for those who follow Christ.

What was the difference between the disciples and Jews?

There is no difference precisely because the disciples were Jewish. But the disciples were considered to be the first Christians because they believed that Jesus was the Son of God whereas the majority of Jews did not hold this belief.

What did the christians think of jesus and his teachings?

The way this question was written it seems a question about the time that Jesus was alive and if this is the case there were no Christians when he was alive. All of his followers ( including him) were Jewish and it will be several centuries before there are "Christians." The book of the Acts of the Apostles contains a line that says, "...And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch. (Acts 11:26) Some knowledgable authorities believe the book was written between 62 and 64 AD. That means that rather than centuries after Jesus, there were people called Christians in as few as three decades after him, possibly less.

Did the early Christians like the Zealots?

They did not operate in the same spheres, so there is limited knowledge of how the early Christians regarded them. However, it is likely that they had unfavorable view of the Zealots since the Zealots were antagonizing the Roman Authorities. The Roman Authorities at that period did not notice the difference between the different Jewish and quasi-Jewish factions, of which early Christians were a part, resulting in increased Christian persecution in the aftermath of the Zealots' revolt.

Why did the Jewish authorities believe you shouldn't work on the sabbath?

Is Christ a Christianity or Islam?

Answer 1:Jesus is recognised & believed in both Islam & Christianity but the way of belief is different. Christians believe in Him as a God or a son of God while He is a great prophet in Islam. Christians believe in His crucifixion while Muslims believe that He was saved by God & was not crucified. Both believe in His virgin birth, His miracles like talking in the cradle & raising dead, His ascension to the Heavens & His return to the world.Answer 2:well "christ" is a christian word that means messiah, Islam do not believe in Jesus as a "christ" however, they do believe in Jesus as a profit. Jesus himself was Jewish, he went to the temple, celebrated passover and all the other usual things for a Jewish boy/man of his time. along with some unusual things witch is why he was crucified. but ( Christians believe ) he ros from the dead and, after appearing to his disciples, ascended into the skythen ( Christians believe ) the holy spirit came and He started Christianity.

What jewish most Christians believe about God?

You'll have to rewrite the question. It makes no sense in English.

Why were the followers of Jesus in trouble with the Jewish authorities?

Mainly the Jewish authorities were furious that these 'unlettered and ordinary' men were continually and successfully preaching and teaching in the name of an enemy they THOUGHT they'd destroyed, and were jealous of the attention the disciples were getting for the miracles they were performing in the name of Jesus.(Acts 5:16-32,41-42)(Acts 4:11-31) The disciples were constantly 'in trouble' because they would not stop. No matter what happened, they continued to obey Jesus command to preach, teach and baptize new disciples .(Matthew 28:19+20)
