Depicting the images of Prophet Mohammad is forbidden in Islam. Muslims have a deep reverence for Prophet Mohammad, thus drawing a caricature of him is considered blasphemy in Islamic countries. However, this rule does not apply to most part of the western society.
this is mainly for two reasons:
Because Muslims believe that taking pictures or drawing humanly figures is believed to be haram, in other words forbidden and something that is against god and shouldn't be done because it is not respectful to the religion and it is imitating the way of god as he created humans not humans.
Showing and even making his images is haram (Wrong) according to Muslim religion. People following Islam many times are not known to the facts about their religion and similar is with other religion too. Prophet Muhammad like any other saint and preacher said that God is One .
He lead a army of converts to Islam to destroy all the idols of God. Worshiping a Idol is wrong hence no image is shown. They believe in supreme power. Many religious texts are not satisfactory and wrong in terms of ritual practices and oppression of women. Today in the 21st century we know about right and wrong and should not follow everything written in those books blindly . Harming other being or yourself to fulfill the ritual in your religious text is not a smart move on both humanitarian and religious grounds.
