Mouth - the mouth is where the digestive system starts. in your mouth you start to break down your food in two ways: mechanically and chemically. (your saliva contains a chemical that can break down your food, and mechanically because you are crushing it with your teeth.)Esophagus-where your food is squeezed into your stomach.Stomach-where it is crushed and tossed around and squeezed to your small intestineSmall intestine -where most of the digestionoccursLarge intestine - the remains that are considered waste gets squeezed outAnus- where the waste exits your bodyHope that helps :)
the mouth adds saliva and that breacks down the food
The gravy needs t have a thickener added such as plain flour or corn flour. This done when the marjority of the fats/juices are poured off and KEPT - Add small amounts of the flour to the a small amount of the juices (approx 1 table sppon of flour to 3 of juices) stir to a paste and reheat as you heat the paste will thicken - you can add vegetable water to thin and and a huge flavour as well.
Four features of the small intestine make it efficient at absorption of digested food: 1. The small intestine is LONG- this ensures food remains in the small intestine long enough for the products of digestion to be fully absorbed into the bloodstrem. 2. The Small intestine is HIGHLY FOLDED into villi (s. villus)- This gives a greater surface area for more efficient diffusion of products into the bloodstream. 3. The small intestine has a RICH BLOOD SUPPLY - Each villus has a network of capillaries so that the products of digestion are carried away from the small intestine efficiently. 4. The epithelium of the small intestine in the villi is only ONE CELL THICK - for easier diffusion of the products of digestion into the bloodstream. The walls of the capillaries are only one cell thick as well!!
Anything that is easy on the digestive system. Soft fruits, salads, juices, smoothies. Add processed food back into the diet slowly. Same thing with meat, dairy and alcohol.
