The small grunts are either the guinea pig saying that its happy and comfortable where it is, or its the oppersite, its uncomfortable and is unhappy that you are holding it. If its squirming its the guinea pigs way of say "LET ME DOWN!". Although most guinea pigs seem to "sing" when they are quiet happy! And squeel when they are annoyed of uncomfortable.

∙ 12y agoThey don't unless you refuse to bathe them once a month and don't clean the cage once a week. So remember to clean them once a month and to clean their cage once a week. Besides, if you don't know to do that you should have a guinea pig because you have obviously no experience/knowledge on them.

You cannot put guinea pigs in tanks because they feel trapped being surrounded by glass and also there is no where to strap on water bottles and needed equipment onto the walls of the tank. They will also become blind if you put them in an aquarium and there is little air circulation.

Not joking there must be at LEAST 30 guinea pigs at the shelter that are blind from being kept in a fish tank. Get a c&c cage the MINIMUM cage space for a guinea pig is 7.5 feet of cage!
