Why do males call girls sister?

when they call a women sister, then it is not necessary that they must be related to each other. they refer to a lady a sister just with respect. or they feel more attached and caring to that women when she shares a sisterly relationship with them. as in relationships it is not required that you got to be committed to a women or she need to be your associate some how to be in your contact.

The bad:

If you use to call a woman as sister, she want suspect your behaviour and also respect and honour you as her brother. Then there will be a peaceful environment with mutual understanding. this is the reason to use sister to unrelated woman.
