Not counting injury, such as a blow to the groin, a strain on the tendons and ligaments in the groin can produce pain. Generally, rest and cold will help. As weird as it sounds, a bag of frozen green peas makes a good icepack for the groin- when it warms up, refreeze it.

What causes a dull pain in the groin?

What causes groin pains? I would say grow'n pains. I think and heard its stretching or pulling of the muscle. Like when you strain to have a bowel movement. That muscle you flex when doing so is your groin. It sounds like you've pulled or strained something which may or may not be your groin. Either way it sounds like its time for a trip to the doctor.

Groin Pain in Women: Causes?

When groin pain occurs in an individual, the cause can greatly vary between women and men; for instance, conditions affecting genitalia are likely to contribute to the pain. While men suffer groin pain due to underlying problems with male genitalia, women could have a few potential causes which are not related to gynecological reasons whatsoever. One of the most common reasons that women suffer from groin pain includes suffering an injury in the hip joint. While this means that the injury has occurred in an entirely different area, the pain can still easily be found within the groin area, which is due to something called referred pain. Women often suffer an injury to the hip joint due to repeatedly executing the same repetitive movement and overdoing it. Alternatively, direct trauma can cause injury to the area. A hernia can also be the source of groin pain in women. This is when one of the internal organs manages to burst through its tissue, poking at the lining of the abdomen, and this most frequently occurs with the intestine. This will usually result in an abdominal lump that is both visible and palpable. Due to the close proximity with the groin, pain in the groin will typically be felt. Ovarian cysts might also be a source of groin pain in women. These are tiny sacs that, as the name suggests, can develop directly on the ovaries. While they will not often manifest any symptoms, larger sacs will produce pain in the groin area. More severe instances of ovarian cysts can result in the sacs becoming filled with blood and bursting, which causes internal bleeding. Other potential causes for groin pain in women can include rashes to the groin area, as well as a yeast infection, which occurs when too much fungus accumulates within the vagina, causing a rash in the area of the groin. Finally, another source of rash would be ringworm, a type of skin infection that -- again -- occurs with fungus, which leads to redness, severe itching and groin pain in general. Whatever the cause of the groin pain, it is best to figure out the source and treat that to fix the pain in the groin.

What Causes Groin Pain?

Groin pain is one of the most uncomfortable feelings to experience during the course of the day. Pains in the groin area are typically sharp, often lasting for an extended period. Reducing groin pains can help you to improve your quality of living, while maintaining mobility, range of function and endurance for the activities that you love.Causes of groin painThe groin area is in the center cortex of your body, playing a large role in most angular movements. If you are an athlete, groin pain is typically the result of a strain or tear of a muscle. When you extend a muscle past its breaking point, the internal tissue expands and can tear, causing extreme pain. If this is the case, you must speak with a physical therapist to expedite your treatment with drugs or therapy. Other causes of groin pain include post surgery trauma, testicular strains and sexually transmitted diseases. If you are recovering from a surgery, the weak muscle may cause pain in your groin area, as receptors must pass through your midsection. When you strain your testicular region, groin pain can result but usually disappears after a few hours. Finally, sexually transmitted diseases center in your groin area and can spread to different parts of this region. Whether you have mild or severe groin pain, contact a doctor for the necessary procedures to cure this discomfort. When you exercise, begin at a walk then merge into a jog until you reach full speed. This process allows for smooth transitions and reduces strains. Groin pain is a hamper on your daily routine, as it restricts many different types of movement. Since the groin is in the nucleus of the body, many different injuries and types of infections may serve as the cause. Eating the proper diet, exercising and proper sleep patterns can all help in reducing the amount and level of groin pain during the course of the day.
