They probably want to make sure that you are getting well-rounded experiences. If you sit on the computer all day, every day, you might not ever experience the joy of learning a sport or know how good you can be at some other activity. Childhood is a time to learn about the world and about yourself... what you're good at, what you need to learn more about. Some of that you can do on a computer or device, but definitely not all.
